Making the process as smooth as possible
Considering delivery access and restrictions is very important! Easylawn will always do our absolute best to accommodate your delivery needs, but here are a few things to consider before getting started:
-
Easylawn lorries can be 44ft and 55ft long – they are big vehicles with mounted forklifts on.
-
If you live in a remote area or on a narrow street, lane or congested area access may be an issue.
-
Consider the roads to your property, are there any low bridges? Any weight restrictions? Narrow roads that lead to your address?
Once your order is placed it will be reviewed by the logistics team. If we cannot achieve the delivery, you will be contacted and if no solution can be found, you will be refunded in full. If you are in doubt or have special requirements, just give us a call! We are proficient in dealing with these issues, and quite often there will be a solution!

Driveway surfaces
-
Forklift off load – Gravel driveways (soft surfaces) can be a problem. Forklifts have a weight of approx. 1T, and when carrying turf, they can be twice that. Not all surfaces are suitable to travel across with this weight, which should be a consideration. On the whole, this is very rarely a problem, and the driver will always do their best to get the turf as near as possible to where you require the turf placed.
-
Pallet truck offload – Gravel driveways (soft surfaces). If we deliver using a pallet truck offload, pallets cannot be dragged across an unlevel/soft surface, which may result in the turf needing to be left on the kerb side.

Kerbside off road & no driveways
When there is no driveway or front garden to access, deliveries can be made kerb side as long as it is safe to do so and not causing an obstruction. It is necessary for the customer to be present when the delivery happens, to ensures the turf is put in the best possible place and protect against any possible theft.
If you are not at home and we cannot leave the turf, there would be an additional cost incurred for redelivery. This can also compromise the quality. Turf is only harvested to order (the day before your delivery). Given its short shelf life, it is advisable to only order it for delivery on a day you know you can be home to receive it.

Gradient surfaces
Both forklift and pallet truck off load are very flexible options. However, turf is a very heavy product and it is not always feasible to move around or leave on a very steep gradient.

Lorry size
The first thing to establish is the lorry size, however, all our own lorries do have mounted forklifts attached. The advantage of having forklifts is more flexibility – if access is difficult for the lorry, we may be able to park up away from the property and forklift the turf through a narrower area to you.
Easylawn have 2 lorry sizes (1) 8ft X 55ft and 44T (2) 8ft X 40ft and 32T
Pallet truck offloads – these lorries tend to be a little smaller, however, due to the nature of the vehicle they only have a tail lift and pump truck offload. This means that they can only deliver the turf as near to your property as the vehicle itself can get.

Delivery times
Easylawn do not give out specific delivery times. However, we are normally able to give you a rough estimate of when we expect the delivery to be made. If you do need a more specific time on the day, give us a call. All our vehicles are tracked and our office team are always more than happy to update you throughout transit.
We route our vehicles based on efficiency as well as customer needs. As with any delivery service, there are always unforeseeable circumstances that can impact timing – please bare this in mind.

Delivery charge
If you are ordering online then any delivery charge that may be incurred is incorporated in the price you are shown. Nothing extra will be added at the end – the quote you see is the total price you pay!
If you are ordering over the phone you will be given a total price. If you would like it broken down you can request it.
If you have a delivery booked in and you are required to be home for the delivery (customers with no driveway or safe off load facility), you must be there. If you are not and the delivery can therefore not take place, you will have to pay an additional charge for redelivery.
If you have ordered turf and no longer require the turf, you need to cancel the order 48hours before the delivery date or you will still be charged.

Turf quality
It is important for all customers to inspect the turf immediately on delivery. We always endeavour to produce the best possible quality turf at all times. If for any reason you are unhappy with the delivery, it is important you communicate this to us within the first 24hrs after delivery – we will not take liability for defects after this period. Unfortunately, if the turf is left for too long on the pallet before it is laid, it is inevitable that the quality will reduce.

The care and maintenance of the turf is the responsibility of the purchaser once the delivery has been made.

Receiving the turf
Kerb side deliveries require someone to be present to receive the turf. It allows you to direct the driver so the turf is put in the best possible position for you, as well as allowing you to check the turf itself and limit risk of damage or theft.
If you are not home and the driver cannot find a safe or hazard free place to leave the turf, we will not leave it. The responsibility for the cost to redeliver will be with the customer.
Driveway or front garden deliveries do not require anyone to be home to receive the turf, however it is always an advantage! Easylawn drivers are always very helpful but if you are there to direct them, they will do their best to get it where you want it. If you cannot be there then please give as clear a description as possible of where you want the turf placed. It won’t always be possible but we will do our best.

Off load
Easylawn’s own vehicles use a lorry-mounted forklift to offload the turf. The forklift is about the same width as a standard car and as such should be able to access most driveways.
The forklifts do NOT have the ability to lift over anything (ie small walls or fences), they need to be able to drive up to where the turf is to be dropped.
If you need your turf travelled over any surface that is not a driveway or solid surface, it will be at the driver’s discretion. The forklifts are very heavy, especially when carrying turf – the drivers are experienced and will make the decision as to whether it is safe to do so.
The forklifts are not designed to travel long distances. We are more than happy to accommodate the customers’ needs wherever possible, but it may be up to the driver as to what is safely achievable.
If you have a delivery via a pallet-line service, offload will be done with a pump truck and tail lift. The turf will only be able to be put as near as the lorry can get to.
It is important to note that the delivery drivers are NOT allowed to handball turf rolls.

Pallet delivery
Easylawn turf is delivered on wooden pallets (1 X 1.2M).
The delivery drivers will always do their best to put the pallets where you want them. The drivers are NOT allowed to handball turf.
We do not offer a pallet collection once you have finished with them. The only time collection is offered is if there is a repeat order to the same address, but will only include the prior delivery.
