How long are your rolls of turf?
Each roll will cover 1m² and are approximately 40cm wide X 250cm long
What seed mix do you use?
We use an amenity mixture of Dwarf Rye grasses and fescues. Our seed mix is chosen to have a fine appearance with durability for everyday use.
How will my turf be delivered?
Depending on the area you are in this may vary but typically we will dispatch via a pallet courier to deliver the next day. These vehicles have a tail lift and pallet truck on. Please be aware that full pallets can weigh up to 1 tonne and therefore we have to be able to put them on a suitable level surface e.g. a driveway not gravel.
If you are in any doubt please ring us to check before your turf is dispatched, there is nothing we can do once the turf has left us.
I think I’ve made a mistake ordering or I’m unsure about something?
No problem – ring us, we are here to help!
How long will the turf take to establish?
This varies on the time of year and the after care to the turf. As a general rule turf takes about 2 weeks to root, you can check this by turning a corner up and you will see the root growth (it’s advisable to check more than one as this can vary), once the corners can no longer be turned it should be at a point with which to mow and use.
What soil type do you grow on?
We grow on a heavy loam base. We find this establishes very well on heavier soil types and is equally happy on sandier soils.
How to order?
You can use our online service, if however you are struggling for any reason please feel free to give us a call on 01432 850 850
How to measure?
You can measure in any units of measurement you’d like – the easiest to convert is meters but we can do feet and yards if you call us. Use the online calculator to help you. We realise not all gardens are perfect shapes but most can be broken down with the help of the turf calculator – simply add the shapes up.
How to lay turf?
Please see our Useful Information section for more information.
What time of year is best?
There is no right answer to this, at Easylawn we cut every week of the year. In winter the ground is likely to be harder to prepare but the grass will need less watering to establish it. In the summer it is still ok to lay turf but you should be aware you will need to water the turf regularly until it has fully established. You should be aware of the time turf will survive in the roll as it decreases as the temperature increases.
When can I mow the turf?
We recommend you allow your turf to root fully before mowing. This is easy to check by lifting the corners of the turf, check 3 or 4 to ensure the whole lawn has rooted.
How fresh is your turf?
All our turf is cut to order. Orders are cut on the day before delivery.
What quality is the turf?
We’ve been growing and harvesting turf for 30 years with 90% of our business based on repeat orders from professionals in the landscape trade and retailers.
